I can not beleive that my little boy is now 9 months old. He is constantly amazing me everyday. He isn't crawling yet or pulling up but we are working on these things. He is so funny that he won't pick up cherrios but will eat them if you put them in his mouth. The other day he did put one in his mouth when he thought I wasn't looking. At our 9 month appt he weigh 21 lbs 3.4 oz (64%) 29 in length(77%) 18 in OFC(62%). He offically stopped nursing on 1/25, if I would have known that this was my last nursing session I would have savored it more. Now I am pumping three times a day and using my frozen stash of milk. My plan is to continue to pump til 10 months then stop since I should have enough to make it to a year. Yeah no formula buying for us. I feel that my nursing was a sucess, even with all the hurdles we had to over come. Here are the things he has done so far the month of Jan 2010.
1/1 top front teeth starting to come in

1/2 right front tooth in

1/4 daddy gave isaac a taste of shells and cheese and he loved it
1/8 front left tooth comming in had red beans and rice while out to dinner

1/9 loves to scream all the time

1/10 right front tooth comming in and double rolled off our bed to a push up position while daddy was changing his diaper

1/11 sits alone without throwing himself backwards when excited

1/13 had cheerios for the 1st time at sophia's house and liked them but wouldn't feed yourself

1/14 yogart plain and he loved it

1/16 started chicken and sippy cup

1/20 babytalk research. You got bored with the last one and took your sock off and played with it. The girls said u are one of the few to make it through the 3 sessions. Commented on how happy all the time you are

1/22 stood on the side of aunt alycia's hospital bed, the first time standing by yourself

1/25 blueberries were a hit. Had crackers while out to lunch with mom and dad. Last time you would nurse

1/27 drank out of a sippy cup by yourself

1/29 cubed cheese for the first time

First Thanksgiving 2009

Isaac had a blast at his first thanksgiving. He didn't eat any turkey but did enjoy his sweet potatoes and his milk. For the months of Oct and Nov things new this month were

Isaac's First Halloween

I had to work so Andy did the photographer duties of taking pictures of our zebra, and pictures of him in his Halloween shirt from Nana (my mom) and his first Halloween bib. Also Isaac got to trick or treat with daddy and Chayce our neighbor. They had a blast. We also now have an official sitter, but he still needs something behind him because when he gets excited he falls back.

Also we started baby food this past week. He doesn't enjoy it yet still but we are trying. I just ordered my baby cooker so when that comes we will be in full force. He hasn't really enjoyed sweet potatoes or the avocados but we are going to try bananas tonight. That is all for now.

Fun filled weekend

This weekend we went to IL to celebrate Andy's birthday and to go to the Colts vs Rams game. It was a blast. On Saturday Andy made everyone breakfast then he and I went for a run while uncle matt stayed with isaac. It was a blast. Isaac enjoyed playing with evan and his toys. The boys took their first bath together which was super cute. I was so sad for us to leave but can't wait for our next adventure together. We miss them already. Enjoy the pictures from this weekend. Play Group

Today we went to the orchard with moms I have met in the breastfeeding support. If it wasn't for these girls I would have quit a LONG time ago. They are great. I love spending time with them and seeing our babies grow up. We are even planing a moms night out, I can't wait, it is much needed. We got apple cider, apples, and a carmel apply. The weather was so nice it was 70. Enjoy the pictures.

I can not believe that my baby is now 6 months old. He weighed in at 17lbs 15.8 oz and was 27.5 inches long.

5 month run down:
Has almost mastered sitting alone 10/5/09 did sit for a small period of time by himself

Isaac has been chewing on things since he was 3 months old. I have a friend from work who said I should get a Sophie and also a girl from support group has one too. Well I went ahead and got Isaac one and he LOVES his Sophie. I tell him not to get confused with Sophia, his friend from group.

First Cold

Isaac has his first cold. It started yesterday with fever, cough, running nose, and congestion. He is doing much better with the humdifier running, saline drops to his nose, and suction of his nose. I went today and got a battery powered nasal aspirator that is so much gentler on his nose and he doesn't mind if I suction his nose. I think it was worse on us than him. He is pretty much back to his old self today.

5 Months Old

I can't believe we are now at 5 months. Time truly does fly by.

At our doctor's appt today he got two shots and this time it went better. We had the nurse give one and then the other really fast and he was fine once Andy picked him and when I nursed him.

First Playdate

Isaac had his first playdate with Sophia and Maeve. We had such a blast playing, eating, and good conversation. I just love Allyson and Libby because they give the best advice and it is fun to have someone going through the same stages with you. Enjoy the pictures.

Milestone

Our first Milestone met today on 9/9/09. Isaac rolled over from his tummy to his back. I was so proud of him. The look on his face was priceless. He looked so confused as to what just happened. I tried to make him do it thoughout the day but he only did it once. I was so exited I think I scared him.

After our Dr. C appointment, I decided that I need to make Isaac do more tummy time even though he HATES it. So today after someone suggested I got on the floor and did tummy time with him. He lasted longer than he has ever but then the tears came and then I put him in his bed to play with his new friends and that didn't last long either. He is so happy to sit on my lap and play with toys and me or sit in his Bebe Pod chair. We have one month to get him to roll over so I guess many more days of tears are in my future. Any one with any suggestions to make tummy time easier and play time on his back easier please post some comments. Enjoy the photos from today.

Special Time with Daddy

I love the evenings after bath time when Isaac and daddy are hanging out before I nurse him and rock him to bed. Isaac just lights up whenever he sees Andy and it is so sweet, so the other night I took pictures to share of the moments I cherish so much. I am so thankful for my wonderful husband, great family and friends, and a happy healthy baby. Isaac is just the joy of our lives.

Well, it has only been 4 month but Isaac's room is complete. Big thanks to my sister and my mom for putting together the crib and to the girls at work that helped me pick out toys to go on his crib. He looks so small in his crib than in his little crib. Enjoy the photos, we will update more soon.

4 month Dr. C visit

Well we had our 4 month visit. Isaac on Monday at breastfeeding support group weighed in at 14lbs 5oz and today at Dr. C's he weighed 14lbs 11.2oz and was 25 inches. He is now in the 50% percentile which is great since he started out at the 5th percentile. Momma's milk is doing good. Dr. C said we could start solids but we are going to wait until closer to 6 months since all he really needs is breastmilk and is doing well on just his breast milk. He got on oral vaccine and one shot in the leg. The shot went better this time because I pumped before we went and then was giving him a bottle while she gave him his shot. He calmed down much better this time. Well we will update more just wanted to post how well he is growing. Dr. C also said that buy our six month visit he will have outgrown his current car seat, so that mean moving on to a convertible. Also since Isaac loves to swing so much we had to get one that plugs into the wall so we don't spend his college savings on batteries, so we added a picture of him in it and a pic before our Dr. C visit. She also told me that he was getting at least two teeth, oh my. Also she told me to make sure I force him to do tummy time even though he HATES it but I placed a mirror with lights and music to help in making sure that he gets tummy time so he can roll over soon. Even though I like that he doesn't move but as my neighbor keeps telling me he has to grow up.

First trip to the Lake and 16 weeks old

Isaac took his first trip to Dale Hallow. It was super fun. We went out on the speed boat and pontoon boat. Isaac fell asleep each time we were out on the water. He just loved it. We put his feet in the water but we didn't want to put him in the lake for fear of what he could get. We had fun visiting with Brad and Trisha and Aunt Kristin and Uncle Jon. We can't wait for our trip next year because Isaac will be old enough to go into the lake, with his life vest of course. He really was a little too small for his life vest but we had fun putting it on him and making sure we had it with us in case we needed to use it.

New things for Isaac:

First Luau

First Full Weekend

This weekend was my first full weekend back at work. We didn't have any patients so I was able to pump every three hours which is nice. Andy only had to call me once, but I called him several times to check in on my little man. I am very tired, who knew working two days in a row would wipe you out. Hopefully we settle into a better routine soon, because I need some sleep. Isaac goes to be between 8-9p and is up at 2:45am to nurse then back to bed. Then I am up at 5:40am for work so it makes getting up hard. He is changing every day and when I get home from work I see changes just from the day. Will update more later on the life of Isaac Bean.

1st day back to work

Today is my first day back to work. I am not going to lie I had been dreading this like the plague and was not looking forward to coming to work. On the drive to work I was teary eyed and when I pulled into the parking space I was tearing up but I told myself that I wasn't going to cry and I am proud to say that it is 5pm and I haven't cried. I am very proud of myself. I have called and checked in on Isaac about 4 times already. He enjoyed church with my mom, dad, and sister. He then was doing great hanging out with daddy. Pumping at work has been going well. I have been able to get in four pumpings which is great to help keep my supply up. I can't wait to get home and cuddle with my little man and put him to bed. Thanks to all those who sent encouraging words and sent their support. I couldn't have made it back without them.

I can not believe I am a mother of a three month old. Where does the time go. New things for Isaac is that when he babbles he says "hi". He sleeps 5-8 hrs at night. Breastfeeding is still going well. He celebrated his 1st fourth of July.

I go back to work on Sunday so Isaac and Andy will have to establish their own routines. Will post more later and update regarding my 1st day back.

10 weeks old

Time has really went by fast. I only have 2 more weeks of my maternity leave. Isaac I can't believe is 10 weeks old. A lot has changed in two weeks since the last post. He now smiles, plays with toys, talks, and is sleeping almost through the night. He also sleeps in his own room now. We have established a bedtime routine of nursing, rocking, and turning on music and he is out.

Also today I started a schedule during the day. He gets up between 7a-8:30a, he nurses then is still sleepy so he goes back to sleep for four hours, then gets up he nurses then we play and have bath time, then it is nap time in his room with music on. So far it is working because I am able to post this blog.

At his 2 month visit he received an oral vaccine and one shot. We got back at three months for 2 more shots. We are spacing them out so he doesn't get so many at one time and then if he reacts we won't know what from.

Isaac Dedication

On Father's Day we had Isaac dedicated into our new church. It was great to have all our family and friends present as we commit to raise Isaac as a child of God. I am so happy and can't wait to start taking him to Thursday services since I work every weekend we now can go to church as a family. The brunch afterwards was perfect. My mom is such a doll because she let me have it at her house after she had been on vacation with my dad for a week. I just love her. I was also glad that Matt, Elisabeth, and Evan made the trip for Isaac's special day. Enjoy the pictures.

Eight Weeks

Wow, I can't believe that Isaac is eight weeks old. We have had lots of fun since our last post. We took Isaac to the colt's mini camp and we had a blast. We almost got Peyton's autograph, but maybe next year we will get it. We are having Isaac dedicated in church on Father's Day. We have met lots of new friends at the breastfeeding support group. I have been working on his baby scrapbook with my neighbor Kristin and having a blast. I am going to be sad when I go back to work and she goes back to work in the fall because I love spending time with her.

Isaac is still having his fussy periods in the evenings. We had started to supplement him with formula and I have been taking herbs to increase my milk supply so hopefully soon he will be off formula and just getting breast milk. He is still on his reflux meds.

He goes on Tuesday for his first shots so we will update then and let you know how it goes. In other news, Isaac had his first trip to the ER for his right testicle. It was really swollen and blueish in color. So after four hours in the ER yesterday it was determined after ultrasound that it is just a hydrocele and to watch it. Six Weeks

Wow, I can't believe Isaac is six weeks now. We are still having feeding problems but I have a call out to the lactation consultant to see if they can help. I had cut dairy out of my diet and today we had Isaac's stool tested for blood to see if he is allergic to my milk. That test came back negative and the doctor said to cut out peanuts and soy. I am not sure what to do because if he isn't allergic then maybe he is just having a rough patch and hopefully we get past it soon. It is just frustrating because I want to know why all the sudden feedings aren't going quite so well. I will continue to update as the information rolls in.

We did our photo shoot this morning. Isaac wasn't too happy about a photo shoot first thing in the am, but I was able to get a few good shots. Well enjoy the photos and we will update soon.

Memorial Day Weekend

Well our fussy times have been made better with the use of Gripe Water and Mylicon. He still has periods where he cries and cries, which is so hard to hear because I hate to hear him cry so hard and not know what is wrong. Hopefully we will outgrow this soon.

We had a blast this past weekend. Hanging out with Evan and Isaac visiting with his great Nana and Grandad. It was such a blessing for my Nana to meet him and rock him when he was just beside himself. Also Isaac got to meet Andy's aunts for the first time as well. Fussy Times

Well we have been having dealings with such a fussy baby lately. So, today I went and bought Gripe Water to help with his gas. It is also hard because he has reflux and hard to figure out what will help. If anyone has any suggestions please send them my way. I will continue to update on our troubles.

Five Weeks Old

I can't believe Isaac is now 5 weeks old. We went to Dr. C yesterday and he weighed in at 7 lbs 15.6 oz, almost 8 lbs. He is still eating every two hours and we have started Prevacid for his reflux and hopefully it helps. I am also cutting diary out of my diet to see if this helps as well.Also he has a fussy period from about 6-8pm.

We took our 5 week photos so enjoy them. The doll he is pictured with was made by Andy's great aunt Emmy before she passed away so it is very special to us to have something from her as we miss her.

Evan Turns 2

Yesterday my favorite little man turned two. I can't believe Evan is two already. It seems like only yesterday I was headed to SC to stay with them for week 1 to week 2 of his life. Now he is a big boy and smartest two year old on the planet. I just love to spend time with Evan and had a great time at his party. Andy just adores Evan and just can't get enough of him. Four Weeks Old

I can not believe that my baby is four weeks old today. It is going by fast and that means I am closer to going back to work, which for me right now is hard to stomach. I love my job but I love being at home with Isaac more. I know I have to go back, but maybe by the time it comes I will be ready. As for now I am enjoying every minute of my little man.

This past weekend we spent Mother's Day weekend with my mom and did visit Andy's mom on Sunday. Isaac and I made Mother's Day cards for everyone and I think they were a hit. I just love spending time with my mom and Isaac. We just have the best of time.

This weekend we are off to IL to see Evan for his second birthday. I can't believe he is TWO already. Time does fly. Enjoy the pictures from our four week photo shoot and I will update with more pictures after this weekend.

Three Weeks Old

Today Isaac is three weeks old. I can't believe that tomorrow May 8Th was our scheduled C/S and we have been blessed with our little guy for already three weeks. Enjoy the photos from his three week mommy and Isaac photo shoot.

The photo shoot with Kelly Foster went fabulous yesterday. I can't wait to see what the pictures look like. It was so much fun and Isaac had his eyes open the entire time. He also took his pacifier the entire time too, which is a new finding for him.

I got the proofs back from his pictures that were taken in the hospital and I can't get over how much he has changed already. Well that is all for our update today. We will update again soon with more pictures.

Tomorrow I am so excited because Kelly of Kelly Foster Designs is coming to take Isaac's pictures. I just love pictures and can't wait to see what she has in store for him. Isaac is still eating every two hours, which makes for a very tired mommy, but I wouldn't change it for the world. I just love having this little guy. He is changing so much every day, yesterday he was even looking up at his dragonfly on his bouncy chair. Andy and I gave Isaac a bath last night and I just love our family time together. Hopefully next time we can put him in his bathtub.

Two Week Photo Shoot

More Isaac photos

Isaac went to the Pediatrician yesterday and weighed in at 6lbs 14.8oz. That is a 10.2oz weight gain in a week. I guess I am producing enough milk for him. I was so glad we are above birth weight because this means we no longer have to go to the doctor for weekly weight checks.

Today Andy went golfing and wanting to show Isaac how to golf, so enjoy the picture of daddy teaching Isaac how to golf. Well Isaac is fussing so I better go and attend to his needs. Will update later with more photos. The first two photos are from the hospital.

Two weeks old Already

I can't believe that tomorrow Isaac will be two weeks already. Time is flying by and we are trying to enjoy every minute. Right now I feel I will never be ready to go back to work, but I know when the time comes I will be ready.

He is nursing well and is going through a growth spurt so he wants to eat every 1 1/2to 2 hrs. He does though give us a four hour stretch at least once during the night. Cloth diapering is going well. I am really enjoying them. We upgraded this week from newborn prefolds to infant prefolds. The infant ones are big for him but he was soaking the others, so this way he has more absorbency.

We had a photographer come to the hospital and take his pictures and I can't wait to see them. Also next week I hope to have another photographer scheduled to take more pictures of him.

I will try to update tomorrow with pictures from his two week photo shoot done by me. I am going to take his pictures every week until 4 weeks then every couple weeks and then monthly so stay tuned.

Our little guy decided to arrive a month early on April 16th 2009 at 8:31pm. Isaac weighed 6 pounds 11.2 ounces and was 18.5 inches long. He is absolutely perfect. We are so happy to have him in our lives. We are a little sleep deprived but loving every minute we spend with him. Will update with more pictures later, but wanted to make a post quick to share photos of our new little guy.

Our First Babies

I couldn't help but add something about our first babies since they have been left out alot lately. Here are some recent pictures of my four legged babies. A girl I work with had a futon mattress she was getting rid of, so I took it for a couch for the dogs, so no more slobber on our couches. Peyton is the one with the white stripe all the down his head and Eli is the smaller one with a more pushed in nose and no stripe on his head, just a white stripe between his eyes.

36 Weeks

We have made it to 36 weeks. At my appt yesterday my OB asked if my husband was really tall because she said Isaac is very long. Who knows we might end up with a 6ft tall kid some day. Things are going great and only 3 weeks and 1 day from today is our C/S. Time seems to be going slowly since I am ready for May 8th to come and meet my little guy. Will post belly pics and update after next weeks OB appt.

Isaac's Room

This past weekend Andy and Jon put the circles up in Isaac's room. They look so cute. All we need now is for Grandpa Mummert to finish his crib and we have all we need for our little man to come. Also we got the mattress and sheets from Nana K to complete his bed for our room. Also I included a picture of the glider I had recovered and his dresser/changing table.

35 weeks

We have made it to 35 weeks. Only four weeks and two days from today is our scheduled C/S. I can't believe it is getting so close. I went back to work this past Sunday and it was fine and I think I will be able to work up til May 7Th as long as the contractions continue to stay away. Here is a picture of the belly at 35 weeks. Will post again at 36 weeks after my appointment and with more pictures.

Baby Showers

I had my last baby shower last Saturday and it was so much fun. Andy's aunts threw the shower and I had a blast. We played the game where you measure how big around the pregnant person is. This was so funny to see Andy's cousins measure how tall they were and they got pretty close to how big around I am. We received many things we needed and I just had to get a few things that we still needed and order the rest of our diaper covers. I have received one order but waiting for the lady who makes diaper covers to finish making them and send them to me. In terms of his room we are still needing to put the circles on the wall, have the crib, and get a new mattress for the little crib (which Andy slept in as a baby) in our room. Once we have all that I will post pictures of his room, since many people have asked to see what it looks like.

I am working on finishing up laundry today. Also we have the downstairs ready for Isaac with his swing and Play Pen. Here are a few pictures from the shower and my load of stuff to put away.

Off bedrest

I went to the OB yesterday and had a non stress test and there were ZERO contractions. All the prayers worked. I am able to go back to work, which is great because it is no fun being off without a baby.

I had my work shower yesterday and it was awesome. You girls are the best and I miss seeing you every week. We got some really great things. My friend Lauren who is also a cloth diaper fan got us some diaper covers, which were way cool. I am so amazed at how generous people have been and how excited they are for Isaac. It makes me feel really special.

I have one more shower tomorrow so I will post an update with pictures.

Non Stress Test Today

Well today was much better in the contraction department. I only had a few and they were no where near as strong as the ones I had previously had, which is great. So bedrest continues until Thurs when my OB is back from her vacation and I have another non stress test before I meet with her so hopefully I can go back to work. It stinks being off with no baby, but I don't care as long as he stays put until our C/S date since he is still breech. Will give another update on Thursday.

Bed Rest

Well my non stress test went better today. The strength of the contractions are down, but I am still having them. So, I was ordered to bedrest and off work for a week. This will be hard for me as I am always on the go. I am going to follow strict doctor's orders because it is way too soon for Isaac to be born.

Going through pre term labor has made me understand more how the moms feel that I work with. It has given me a new outlook on what those moms have gone through.

I go back to the OB on Thursday, so hopefully I can go back to work.

Pre Term Contractions

Well, today I went for what I thought would be a routine visit, but ended up with a non stress test showing contractions. This prompted my OB to do a test that will determine if you will have your baby in the two weeks. I sure hope not because 35 weeks is way too soon for me. I go tomorrow for another stress test and it is off week for a week til I see her next Thursday. She started me on a Procardia to keep contractions away. I wasn't dilated so that is good. Well, I will post an update tomorrow after my next adventure to the OB.

Done with School til Sept

I just got my grade and I got an A in my last theory class. Yeah!!!! Now I can focus all my energies on planning for Isaac. I can't wait til Wed because I get to hear his heartbeat again. That is the most amazing sound ever. Sam :)

Baby Shower

I had the most fun ever at my baby shower this past weekend. My best friend April is the greatest. She along with my mom, Suzanne and Elisabeth gave met the best shower. My sister in law Elisabeth played this awesome game. She took pictures of my head and Andy's head then people had to cut and paste different parts to see what they thought Isaac would look like. It was so funny to see what people had chosen. She als.o brought baby time which is where everyone puts a dollar on the minute they think Issac will be born, then after he is born whatever minute he was born on that person wins the pot of $60

Then after the shower was over Elisabeth, mom, and I went through all the gifts and took tags off and started getting Isaac's room ready. The circles I ordered for his wall aren't in yet and Andy's dad isn't finished making our crib yet. So, once all that is done then we can finish Isaac's room.

This past week I finished all my thank you notes for the shower and did Isaac's laundry. The little man had so much stuff to be washed. I now know how my mom felt all those years. Laundry and then more laundry.

Only 9 more weeks til we get to meet Isaac

I have many friends who blog so I decided it was time to start a blog to keep our friends and family updated as Isaac grows. I hope you will all enjoy reading about the joys of parenting our son Isaac as he grows.

Today we had our 31 week appt. He weighed in at 3 pounds 15 oz. We had a 4D ultrasound which was really cool. You could see his face really good at times, but at other times it was hard because he kept his hands in front of his face and also he is breech so his legs were in the way too. I added 31 week belly pics and a 4D pic. I thought when we went for the 4D ultrasound that I would see if he looks like me or Andy but we both thought it was really hard to figure out who he looks like, so it looks like we have to continue to wait.

I have my first baby shower this Saturday, which I am super excited and I will have to post afterwards with pics. Also Andy's dad is making our crib so once the nursery is done I will post some pics.
